Job Title: SQL Database Administrator (DBA) 

Job Overviews 

As a SQL Database Administrator (DBA), you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our organization’s SQL server database systems. Your responsibilities will include designing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL databases. You’ll ensure high availability, data integrity, and efficient performance across our database infrastructure. 

Responsibilities: 

Database Design and Implementation: 

  • Design and implement SQL databases based on end users’ information needs and views. 
  • Define user roles and permissions, ensuring data distribution to the right users in an appropriate format and timely manner.
  • High Availability and Backup: 
  • Build and maintain database systems with high availability and quality. 
  • Implement high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data regularly. 
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters for fast query responses. 

Data Security and Integrity: 

  • Proactively manage data security, privacy, and integrity. 
  • Enforce and document database policies, procedures, and standards. 
  • Perform regular tests and evaluations to ensure data protection. 

Performance Optimization: 

  • Monitor database performance, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement. 
  • Apply patches and version updates as needed. 
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize SQL queries.

SQL Server Upgrades and Migrations: 

  • Plan and execute SQL server upgrades and migrations. 
  • Ensure seamless transitions while maintaining data consistency and integrity. 

User Support and Training: 

  • Provide data management support and training to end users. 
  • Assist users with troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues. 

Requirements: 

  • Proven working experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in SQL databases. 
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL. 
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding. 
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools. 
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification.
